Consolidation Debt Service # Route 80: A 5-mile section from the Delaware River bridge in Hardwick Township to the Paulinskill River bridge in Knowlton and a 15-mile section from Fairfield Road in Wayne to the Intestate 95 merge in Teaneck.

Company Consolidation Debt # Route 287: A 7.5-mile section from South Street in Morristown to Parsippany Road in Parsippany-Troy Hills and a 1.5-mile piece from Stag Hill Road to Route 17 in Mahwah. Debt Problem Steve Carrellas, New Jersey coordinator for the National Motorists Association, questioned the legitimacy of the state's choices for double-fine zones on the interstate highways. He said the DOT simply seemed to be expanding the areas for tougher penalties to all the sections of the roads not covered by the 65 mph double-fine policy.

Credit Debt "I'm not seeing a lot of credibility when they're talking about priority safety zones," he said.

Advice Debt State officials, however, said they did exclude some parts of the interstates from the double-fine zones. For example, they said a 14.3-mile section of Route 280 from Kearny to East Hanover was not included.
